What is the Chamber of Trade?
The Chamber consists of local business people working for the overall good of Rustington village, committed to keeping the village a vibrant and welcoming place to have your business and tackling issues such as planning, Christmas lights and events, parking and helping to keep important shops like the Post Office open. In fact, if you have an issue we are here to help!
The more support the Chamber gets the better it will become. Imagine what Rustington would be like without all the things that we take for granted like free parking, Christmas lights, Community Police Officer and many other things that go on behind the scenes.
The Chamber instigated and runs the FREE 3 HOUR PARKING system in both Churchill car-park and that behind Co-operative Supermarket; discs are paid for by advertising, kept and distributed by the Chamber and are a very important part of traders' livelihoods - if it were not for the discs, it is certain Rustington would see Pay & Display parking like so many other villages and towns.
Chamber members have a voice, these voices used together as one can help make things happen, or sometimes stop things happening - there have been times when unauthorised trading has been stopped, unpopular planning issues have been questioned and other times when actions of Parish, District and County Council decisions have been applauded and supported by the Chamber.
